Differentiation and Pressure  2009/07  現在に至る  I differentiate, modify, and scaffold my lessons so that all students are stakeholders in their own education. I allow them to grapple with challenging topics and ideas at a patient pace. I believe that it is essential to keep students on their toes and to constantly apply pressure.  
Differentiation and Pressure  2009/07  現在に至る  I try to help students realize that they cannot sit back and relax and thus become active participants in their education. And this pressure offers students the unique ability to think quickly and on their toes—something that they are not often afforded in Japan.  
Kinesthetic Modification  2009/07  現在に至る  After assessing students’ ability, I am better able to understand their reading/listening/speaking ability and modify text, often in the form of readers, accordingly. Activities, that are mostly kinesthetic in form, are used as supplementary teaching aides for my classes. 
Blocking and Chunking  2009/07  現在に至る  In regards to units taught, within the 90-minute timeframe, lessons are chunked up in 15-to-20-minute blocks to keep students motivated and their energy levels high. Through lecture, teamwork activities, discussion, critical reading and analysis, and reflective writing, students acquire knowledge in cross-culture-related content.
